A few pleasant hours spent upon the Aegeon Sea transiting from Paros to Pyraeus Port (Athens) which is the 3rd to last leg of my Greek Island holiday.
The Blue Star 1 is one of the larger ferries plying the waters of the Cyclades. Very comfortable way to get around with no seat numbers to worry about, a lovely open deck and free wifi.
Back to my previous digs in Athens the Hotel Exarchion. The district Exarchia has a reputation for being the centre of Athen’s left wing activism. It would explain why there are riot police permanently stationed on corners around the hotel. From what I’ve seen the streets around here are as safe as it gets.
